Me to I get the fart can fwd crowd and the big country kid diesel trucks try to roll cole on me and then I get the occasional props and thumbs up from various people ...
had a guy in a 4x4 ford ranger ask me as i was gitting in my truck how it feels when a real 4x4 pulls up next to me, i smiled and replied back, "ill let ya know when that happens" :LMAO: he started laughing and said "touche"..... i then replied and said "feels nice when my truck is lower than any other truck on the road.... he smiled and nodded.
Always turning heads so use to the people looking at my truck with dislike when it looked like **** now it looks good Imo so when they look I question it but then a mile down the road I get someone asking me what year it is and that it looks nice so its always nice to be re assured that your truck is liked by fellow motorists
Lol 4x4 ranger ... Def not a real 4x4 I got a bunch of those kids running around my town two with double six foot cb antennas ... Like really you look like you just left the dunes and there 1200 miles away
I've seen some of you guys' trucks and can understand the comments. Wish this thread came with pics. Hahaha
Same here man...co worker always talking crap "u need to upgrade" yet his 06 gmc Sierra never wants to turn on when its time to go home
I'm in middle ga. Home of the muscle car shows. Most shows around here are full of restored camaros, mustangs, challengers. Beat up ass rat rods. So when I roll up to the show and lay it out you can imagine the looks I get. Some ppl dig it. There's a lil group of older guys who rock early 80's Celicas and Supras that I normally park with and talk to. Very cool guys.
Right there with you, all my buddies keep asking me when am I going to finish my mustang so we can cruise. I tell them my truck cruises just fine no need to rush so for now I chill with the drift guys
Did you ask him if he's gotten around to cleaning up the huge oil spot in his driveway yet? (great reply btw...I hate when I think of what I should have said...after the fact)
Pablo is a work in progress, and aesthetics aren't at the top of the to-do list. I put on the aero-cap for a cross country trip, and for 3000 miles I had people taking pictures and giving me the thumbs up. My wife is embarrassed to be seen in it, but she's a mill-town townie kid. The guys I work with are plotting behind my back to paint the cap with a giant ****roach, but respect that I get twice the MPG that they do. People I meet at random want to tell me their stories of their old 22RE trucks that are as tough as anything out there. Hey look, the forum software gives me four stars!
neck breaking attention out here when they see the tires on the truck. 275's? Yup. Aside from that, it's pretty good for the most part. Haven't had any dumbo's roll up to me. I did leave a Taco in the dust after they tried to cut me off my on-ramp. Beat them to the on ramp and took off doing 45-50mph up the spiraling on ramp. I had this chick look at my truck in awe as she got into her boy's Corolla. haha, she wishes man, she wishes. The people at the gates on base get a good kick when I roll up in the morning with my parking lights on, looks great and they have to bend down a bit. Especially the girls. This one chick kept giving me this sweet eye contact. haha I always get questions from the guys I work with.
I always get stared at by guys in 4 runners.. And the older people who owned them at some point. Other then that people don't really know what it is..
Yea it's defiantly recognizable as one of the most successful small trucks in automobile history to Toyota owners or previous owners . On my street my nieghboor has a long bed 88 . Guy down the street has a beat up 88 And the guy that comes around cuttin yards has 84-88 4x4 .. My street is less than a 1/4 mile long I leave my truck in the driveway beamed up so they come buy and ask all types of 22r and 22re motor questions
Just back from a long running car show,my first year at this one. Got a lot of attention & questions, but didn't place!! Was a great show with around 400 rides!! Entries voted on one another's rides!!
Within a mile of me there's about 5 or 6 79-83's that I know of... And a couple of the newer ones, don't know those generation years..
i get compliments about the paint on mine all the time, which is the only thing i absolutely hate about it. i plan on repainting this week, hopefully. i get nods at every light, when im getting fuel, and even driving down the highway. i live in the sticks, so there are alot of douche bags driving those huge smoking cummins diesels that never haul/pull anything or see mud on them. whats the point? anyway, they give me dirty looks all the time. but i could care less cuz im sure they are all compensating for something, lol
