anyone ever use sea foam to clean injectors...ppl told me i also put some on the engine oil and gas tank...dose it do the job????
Yea kinda it will help a little on the fuel side of things but mostly the engine if used it in several fuel injected cars it does an alright job of cleaning . But I prefer to use marvel mysterie oil it's in a red container and I use more than half in my gas tank and thro some in with fresh oil these older motors love that stuff and over time it cleans it up a bit I highly recommend running it in your gas tank carbs love that stuff
CHELU!!!! r'member i was having problem w my truck not running rite at idle, well i bot 2 cans of seafoam. put about 2/5 of one can into engine oil and the rest into tank with some fresh gas. seems to run ok. i havent drained oil or really check yet of how bottom end looks. .... but couldn't hurt to try. then i also changed my fuel filter, then i added one whole can of the B-12 chemtool into about 1/2 tank of gas. seems to be running ok. idk if helping or cleaning much but o well. ---idk if it helped but the idle problem wasnt fuel related. but if ur worried about top-end carbon build up, i got this super chemical that eats that **** away. its a secret tricks umbee. its used by one car company but made by another car company and sold on shelf of another car company. if u need, i know a guy that knows a guy that can steal some from a guy.
Lol..ya lai..amma try sea foam..my truck runs solid but after the rebuilt engine I did do any carbon cleaning..I get about 24 MPG so am guessing my injector r okay but to be sure I wanna try and c if it helps..
Just a heads up seafoam in your crank case with fresh oil will breakdown the protective qualitys of the new oil I wouldn't run it in your case on a fresh batch of oil or for a extended period of time seafoam is great in cleaning upper cylinder heads and intake manifolds what it was originally designed for as a top end service for motors ..it helps to run it in your tank but if you have a old fuel filter it will dissolve the trapped particles and push it further down stream to your carb or injectors a new fuel filter would be a good idea before u add this ...
good to know. ya, been slacking on changing the oil in my truck. i guess i have to do it tomorrow. i still got a full can of B-12 i think i will run that for the top end tomorrow after the oil change..... after i mount new riiiimmmzzzzzz ssonn!!!! lol
Make sure if you sea foam through a vacuum line to not choke the motor. Let it in bit by bit while keeping the engine at a comfortable 1.5-2.0 rpm. If you just put the vacuum line into the sea foam bottle at idle it can choke the motor and actually seize it. Moderation and patience will make it all work perfectly!
true. im sure they sell the "decarb kit" at vatozone or fepboys. it should come with some small type of valve or metering device. but if u dont have or cant find it, just use some old vac line (a spare junk one) n u can poke one (pin hole)or a few holes so as to draw in some air to help mix with the liquid -so u dont draw in straight fluid into intake. Liquid + cylinder = new rods! try start with one small pin hole near vacuum port, if still pulling in alot of liquid poke another. i wouldnt poke more than 3. otherwise just take ur time. if done rite, will clean as best properly. Moderation!
Very well Put ^^^. A simple line that fits inside the vacuum hose with an open/close valve spliced in is how I did mine and it worked perfectly.
That's a good call hoshposh let it sip back in highschool I had a buddy with a crx is he was dewing the old sucking transmission fluid into the motor < said it created steam when burned wtf . It does have detergents but not steam .anywho he removed the brake booster line and sucked a entire quart in 0ne second and boom rod outta the bottom smoke everywhere .total moron move ...moral of the story it's better to sip then gulp
Sea Foam, love it! Marvel mystery oil, love it! One once per gallon of gas, works wonders. (sea foam). I try to run it every 4 to 5 tankfulls. (damn ethanol) It works so well they don't even have to advertise it.
