Git under that bed and measure it buddy!!

I think there is only like 4" of clearance and the bed would be sitting right ontop the notch frame maybe less IDK.

My buddy did a 5" notch and came through bed slightly but his was an xcab but i dont think there is any difference in frame

Can't go super far into the frame rails because of the height of the diff. It'll hit before you go too far...

Sorry to say, the small C-Cuts into the frame are not a notch!
A sectioned frame ,with a high point is a notch. Do it once & do it right!
You will regret if not !!

ummm yes it is. thats why its called a C notch. A sectioned frame, with a high point is a STEP notch.

I used to argue with a friend over this same thing... A notch is a notch regardless how big or small if you ask me. Call it what you want "C" or "STEP" or whatever. When you are clearancing into the frame for more axel clearance, It's a notch one way or another. If its braced properly it will be the same strength (if not stronger) than factory.

    Agreed.

I think truck action meant the bigger your notch, the happier you would be to have done it once.

    thanks.
I did not think about that ! lol

wasnt talking about cutting the frame and not adding anything. If I was doing that I wouldnt need to know how big I could go since the bed clears the frame from the factory lol.. and whats wrong about a c-notch any how (not some jankity sht that someone cut and did not reinforce) ? if I dont need a full on monster notch why go that far ?

    yuppp
yeah a$$hole whats your problem ? haha jk. its all cool. im not in a hurry so I figured instead of measuring it myself why not ask someone whose already done it. no big deal right ? lol

awesome im looking for something a little bigger then yours buut I just want a suppper low static truck that rides halfway decent. I might even just bag the b1tch, but I want to keep my bed fully functional...

yeahhh buddy. ^ dont hate on small notches.. 3 inches at 80 miles an hour will do some damage! lol

Get some of those 3 inch body lift blocks like they use on the 4x4's and add them between the bed and frame before you notch. If the notch is still going to interfere with the bed, just stack on another lift puck and add a longer body bolt. Problem solved! :)

I did about as big of a notch as I would like without touching the bed and my truck is probly sitting around a 7 inch drop, working on posting the pics in my thread right now, check them out!
