Been looking into dropping the 91 something like 3/2 or 4/3. I'm not looking to slam it but more like give the truck the ride height of a stock sporty car. I'm willing to give up ride quality to save a few hundred dollars but I don't want my truck to feel like I'm driving a go-kart down a rocky mountain. With a b/j flip and torsion adjustment how bad would the ride quality be? I imagine it couldn't be SO terrible if the torsion only had to give a 1.5 drop with a proper b/j flip using .5in spacers Also in the rear I guess ill get the 3in blocks and remove the middle leaf, will this give more of a drop than I'm looking for? I've read it lowers 3ish inches. Also, how will any of this affect my shocks?
b/j flip and torsion shouldn't be that bad. trim front bumpstops. 3" drop block gives you 3" drop.... and mid leaf removal will drop another 2-3" and will soften up the rear. remember to trim rear bumpstops also. shocks? as long you don't drive fast over bumps and all that, the wear on the suspension shouldn't be any worse aside from the fact that the shocks are closer to bottoming out. (which won't really happen unless you hit something hard)
Wow perfect reply. I just got done reading a lot of the stuff you were asking a few years back too lol. Thanks for the help this is my first truck, I'm used to throwing coilovers on a car and calling it a day after crying about the hole in my pocket. I'm gonna try this over the weekend.
Oh I forgot to ask, if I move the bolts on the torsion bolt 1.5 inches up does that equate to 1.5 inch drop or am I relying on trial and error to find it?
Trial an error I believe. Loosen the bolts equal turns take jack stands out see if you like it. If it's not low enough keep trying. Thts what I did.
