I have a 92 toyota axle that I'm dropping into my nissan. I'm looking for an afordable rear disc brake conversion... any ideas?
92 .....I to would like to change to rear disc brakes! I have searched many web sites and found some good info. but I would like to exahust all those options before I spend any of my hard earned cash. ..I do believe that you should start with a bigger bore brake master cylinder. Any one agree? 92 22re reg cab 2wd.
brakes are important Rear braking can be controlled by messing with the load proportioning valve. Buying a new, adjustable, valve could prove useful (Brembo?). When I lowered my Taco I removed it and plugged the tee mounted on the front frame. My brakes in the rear are at full power when braking now.
I'm looking for caliper backets and calipers that would work along with the disks that go with them... Has anyone done a drum to disk conversion without dropping a ton of $$$.
I posted up what I'll be doing ,go to search ,Next Work To Be Done All parts are listed, a set up that will gave you a e-brake & much better braking & good looks, for around $600. I would recommend doing the front brake up grade posted on this site also.Again in the $600 -$700 range. I did this a while ago & it improves braking a lot! Will be starting my rear disk in a week or two, will post photos.
These ones from Speedway Motors are weld-on, but work great & will fit the Toyota 5 lug pattern. * $239.99 without parking brake: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Complete-GM-Rear-Disc-Brake-Kits,2000.html * $379.99 with parking brake: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Rear-Disc-Brake-Kit-with-Emergency-Brake,1999.html
other than looks whats the point ? im sorry but my stock brakes stop me at high speeds no problem, even with my daytons that weigh as much as the truck lol... If anything abls would be nice.. im tired of sliding....
