I was wondering if anyone has installed the rear disc kit that LC has available for $888 how hard is it to install? it looks like a pretty sick upgrade that i am sure i will do in the near future i just wanna know if anyone did it and the problems encountered.
I think that is like the Downey kit. There are much better ways to go. The GM caliper is a front brake set up,for a very heavy car!

I just looked @ that kit,looks just like the Downey kit, & if I remember right,the last time I asked LC's tech guys, they said they we're going to carry it! It should work just fine,I just don't like that it's just stock GM rotor & caliper, not even a drilled /slotted rotor!!
from my understanding it works very good on 4x4's but on 2wd it does not matter at all becuz the rear brakes is really much used for your hand brake and is rearly used for stoping at normal use. but not sure if its true.
Wait did I just hear that you can put GM calipers and rotors on the rear of a Toyota pickup? If so Will this work for an 87 and which calipers do I need to get?
mm i dont think so.. but correct me if im wrong... from what i know the kit comes with a new and different porportioning valve. this changes the amount of pressure going from the front to a little more in the back... im gonna guess the stock is 70% in the front and 30% in the back. the new one should be 60/40 giving it better stoping power because of the increased pressure in the back.... if will be the same if the stock porportioning valve is used.
that might be true. Does anyone else know? ill try researching and see the details on a brake converstion for the back and get some pro and cons.
The factory prop valve is variable, it senses the load in the bed and increases rear braking as needed. You can disconnect the arm at the axle and tie it up to the frame to get max rear brakes all the time.
