Anyone know of a company that sells lowering rear leaf springs for our trucks? Right now i have 3" blocks in the back and cranked torsions in the front but i want to go lower. I would put bigger blocks but the roads here in Hawaii suck. Anyone got any advice or suggestions?
Belltech makes leaf springs for lowering the rear, about 3" depending on the conditions. Though they will cost you a bit more than the blocks. http://www.belltech.com/products/import.htm#lower_comp
Yeah i seen those on the website, but under products in the buying guide they dont make for our years, its for different years. If i couldnt find i was thinking of getting 4wd rear springs and having them dearched. Has anyone ever done that? Did the ride become ****ty?
The part number for the Belltech lowering leaf spring for 89-94 2WD is 5978 on their website under the part number search in the application guide. They don't show up under their car selection in the application guide separate because it is part of their lowering kit. But these can be purchased separate from their kit from other vendors.
That site is pretty awsome. Shipping to hawaii isnt as bad as i thought it would be too. thanks for the link. Nice truck too btw
I got another question. For the DJM lowering control arms, it says it doesnt include ball joints. Is it possible to reuse your old ones or would you have to buy new ones? Anyone know.
Are you talking about stylintrucks.com? Thats where I bought my drop spindles & shocks, they have great service & I had no problems on getting what I ordered. Not familiar with control arms. Sorry.
Yeah I was looking at stylintrucks after seeing the link posted from NVrenufedge and they got a good selection of stuff for our trucks too. The shipping wasn't bad to Hawaii? You would be surprised with shipping some times. My xrunner wheels with tires mounted cost only 200 for the set from Florida! Not sure just yet if or when I am going to drop my truck (I know everyone will demand I do it!) but if/when I do probably order from them. Nice truck you got there. I got an 89 extended.
I think it really depends on the condition of the ball joints that you have currently on your truck. Personally if you are already making that kind of investment in that particular area, new ones wouldn't hurt the pocket book too much. Also, think of it this way, it's already apart when you are installing lowering control arms.
Thanks for the help guys. Makes a lot of sense, change everything at once. And J10nk, thats my old truck, some lady reversed into me so i sold it. I got another one just like it though, but red this time.
