I called orilleys and the have the Monroe ma727s air shocks for 70$ a pair with life time warranty. Autozone sales the Gabriel equivalents 49162 for the same price and lifetime warranty Autozone also has the Monroe ma803 equivalents for 64$. Pn#49307 When I do my 3 inch rear drop, I might just go with the 49162 since I already have Gabriel's in the rear and I get some credit if I upgrade. Is this a good idea or should I stick with the Monroe's? What do you think?
gabriels are straight up garbage. monroes are slightly better. both are only suited to daily-drivers that wouldn't know a quality shock if they were hit in the face with it. at least with the regular grades. monroe reflexes are decent but not available for a lot of things. Then again, you're looking at air shocks...I'd still go with the monroes.
I guess I should have done some shopping before I bought my shocks. Cuz I bought the Gabriel Pro's. But they made a world of difference since my stock shocks were pretty shot and I had one totally brake off. Finding a new replacement for the bottom rear mount was nearly impossible since these trucks never die! And if they are at a junk yard they are stripped as soon as they get there.
Lmao toyota minis have 29 lives. And the junkyards around here are the same. The part outs on craiglist don't last long either.
I have a static dropped '93 hilux. My front yellow shocks seem to be dead because when i hit a pothole it makes a solid clang sound like metal to metal.. Perhaps bottoming out. What would be a good shock to replace the fronts ?
I ordered some kyb shocks. From what everyone's told me they work great. Part#565030 but I'm not sure if this will work for your static drop
