    i have a stock Lux.
Im looking to lower it. Had the thought, i could prob put in rear bags without C-notching chassis or cutting up tub/wheel arches.
Am i right? Can you get a bolt in kit?

There's bolt in kits but your gonna have a c notch with the bolt in. You won't lay anywhere near frame either

atm i dont have the money to lay frame, or the time, as its my daily driver.
i was thinking i could install a 4 link setup with bags, but not c-notching. it would go low wouldnt it? we have a certain legal limit, about the height of a coke can is usually said.

Also, here in Australia, you have to have an engineers certificate to do any chassis changes, and i dont have that money. also, if it did lay frame, you can only allow it to lay on its frame off the road or at a show. :S

Why not try air shocks? An if you installed a 4 link an bags now it would only lay til the axle hit

how would i set that up?
oh, so u mean the axle/diff hitting the chassis or tub?

i was thinking one of these kits could work without cutting chassis. of course ill have to weld onto axles and chassis, but maybe it wont seem so modified.

annoyingly a lot of members seem to be in different time zones, :S haha, having to wait so long for replies.

there is a lot of room between my axles and bump stop. atm the ute is sitting pretty high, and i want it fair lower, so im thinking bags could work without chassis chopping. is all.
ill talk to an air ride shop, see what they say. get back to ya's on that.

An air shock is simply a shock that you can control the height with. Like an air bag but it looks like a shock.

Get a set of lowering blocks, pull the middle leaf and be done with it.

ya, unless you are planning on doing all the cutting and welding associated with a real bag job, just bagging the rear to lay the axle on the frame is kinda pointless. You cant drive it like that cause the smacking of the frame against the axle will rattle your teeth out. And laying it out on the axle when parked with the front normal will just look weird. I would lower it 4 inches or so, and make a nice low daily driver.

Ya sorry to burst your bubble but bags done incorectally are a pain. I'm just trying so save you from wasting your time and hard earned money. I know baging a truck over there costs a lot, but saving up and doing it the right way the first time is worth it. If you search this site there is a lot of info for getting your truck low for cheap. Good luck with your build, don't let this get ya down

allright. Thanks for the heads up. Nah i dont wanna do sh!t twice, :S
I rang an AirRide shop and he suggest i get my springs totally dead flat, no bow in them, then bolt bags between the leafs and chassis. This sounds like no welding is required, unless for bag mounts.
Ill definetly go with the AirRide shops suggestion if i can.
Thanks for the discussion. You'll definetly hear of my progress, be it sometime in the future depending on cahs.

Dude trust me dnt even bother. U dearch the leafs and put bags in, all ur guna get is like an inch of lift.

If your guna bag it just do it right. I mean sh!t if your already guna buy the bags, compressors, tank(s), fittings, and air line, u might aswell just notch it and 3-4 link it.

The links and bushings really wont be more expensive so u might aswell do it

nah i scrapped the bag idea. If im gonna bag it, i wanna do it properly, but i dont have that money, and i have to drive everyday for work, so it cant come of the road for that long.
My mate gave me four inch lowering blocks, i put them in not long ago, and the stock wheels are just tucking an inch into the wheel arch. Looks great.
I havent removed a leaf spring yet. What would be the beneifit of removing one? Just more drop?
I also cut down my bumpstops by about 1.5 inch, the axle was pretty close to them. It could do with more cut off, as the ride is pretty bumpy.

Pulling the leaf will give you an additional 1 - 1 1/2" of drop
