Ok here's the deal in 1986 after I graduated from high school I had a fairly good job. so as as a gift to myself I went down and bought a new toyota pick up so I would have a reliable ride to get back and forth to work while I rebuilt my vw square back (or make it better as I thought) well any ways before I knew it I got the minitruck bug and on went a set of 15" x 8 wheels aand slamed it to the ground then all my extra money was going into a stereo system! well after 3years of hard driven and 280k on the clock I sold it for a full size truck. so over the last couple of years I thought it be nice to have another mini to run around in. so last month I decided to buy another toyota and my idea was to find a fairly nice well taken care of one for less then 2g's and just drive it :waytogo: (YEA right)
well I picked up an 88 for $500 that was in good shape but needed some TLC

I've been fixing cosmetic stuff on it and a few little mechanical things like tune up fuel pump and electrical (why do some people think they need to rewire vehicle diferently then the factory) and this little truck has brought back a lot of memrys but as I started to cruze craigslist and wreaking yards for parts I kept thinking it needs wheels. SON OF A.... I found a sweet deal on a set of 17" moteig wheels today for 100 buck F ing sweet so on my way home I started to think I'm going to build a low I mean low budget mini that I can cruz to work

so here's where I'm at so far ( I'm rounding off for eas of adding)
    truck.... $500
    sold the canopy for $100
    fuel pump$50
    plugs cap roter wires $60
    wheels $100
    hood& cowl $25
    misc parts $10

I had a sweet bed and tailgate for a $100 but after watching the guy at the junk yard run it into the fence and then hit a tree in his effort to get it out I decide I now have less body work in mine:brickknock: so that hunt goes on

I'll start posting pic' this weekend but here's it when I firt brought it home

well my $100 wheels arnt working out:doah: the center bore is to small I was thinking to put spacers in but my wheel studs are to short so if I have them machined out to fit I think they'll set in to far that my dust cap on the fronts will push out the center caps

I'll post up some pic's after I run out and get some

well got the big laid off yesterday so to day I picked up every thing to rebuild the front end I also did some research on shocks I found that the front shocks from a vega are 8 inches so I ordered up some
so with all the balljoints, inter and outer tie rods, center link, and a few other things it set me back just a little over 500 bucks but its going to drive lots better

i also went by pull a part and walked around for about an hour looking at arm rest whenn I found that back arm rest off of a camery and corrolla are the same as mine

so I'll get it lowered and rebuild the front end tomorrow hopfully and then post upn some pic's
