well I had an oh fu.. to night I was getting on the freeway just sliped it in to 5th and the hood popped up so as I start to pull off thats when the hood flipped up breaking the widsheild bending up the cowl and breaking off the wipper arms so I looks like I need some wheerler fenders hood hinges and cowl and I'm going to be painting it a lot sooner then planed so can you get body parts throug toyota still or is it all aftermarket?
. Yes you can. I would hit up the local yard for used OEM parts. Aftermarket parts are still available but fit and finish is not as good.
yea......... best bet is look to your local junk yards. craigslist is also a great source least you got off the roadway safe man..... thats gotta be a scare
yea i'm not a fan of aftermarket body parts some times their more work then the beat to hell part you started with I just did my std awww mother FlawKER and pulled to the shoulder and watching the gardrail so I didnt get some of that also yea the hinges are F also they hold the hood up about an inch in the rear
Go to this site ------> Partstrain.com You can get most of it there. Pretty good quality and the price is right.
You can check this link for OEM part numbers. Sometimes the dealer says its too old and the computer doesnt show the parts( I think is bs). But I have noticed that if I give them the part number, its easier for them to find/order the part. http://www.toyotapartszone.com/online/Page_Product/Parts_Select.aspx?isAdd=true
Heres another site. Click on parts reference on the left. I like to put in my VIN number on both sites to verify what options came on my truck. http://www.toyodiy.com/
i can vouche that lynnwood pull a part doesnt have anything for a 4wd but they did have a truck or two of that style. i think most of that stuff you need was gone or trashed. i was there today
I went to the pull apart in arlington they only had 3 there of my body style but that had quit a few of the pre 84's I got every thing that I needed other then body parts
