So how did you come to the conclusion they are much better? I don't doubt that they are if in fact they have a stronger springrate and less arch, I just wonder what basis you're using for the comparison.

Well shady i am starting to feel like you want to pick a fight....
between your attitude about my posts on this thread and this other one
    http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5107

it's just a forum full of opinions dude even what you think of my opinion is just yours....
I dont really care what you or anyone posts I am just trying to honestly help someone who is on the same road I have traveled

the trouble with the internet is it's just words open to interpretation by the reader influenced by life experience....

in other words chill out dude i am not trying to step on your opinions or posts

as for the springs.... i think its pretty easy to figure out two leaf pack is better than a split up mono leaf pack

the third leaf is just for loads and only kicks in under heavy compression, that leaves the upper two for suspension
if you take one out your just weaking the pack so it sags

I would rather have two less arched springs with no overload.... they are set to ride at that height not sagging do to lack of support

Wow, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to offend! Seriously, it is my nature to want to learn and investigate a new product, and when something seems to good to be true, often times it is. I just couldn't find any information on those springs whatsoever after an internet search and was trying to figure out what was up with them. As far as "the other thread", i AGREE with you, his damper probably needs replacing... Again, I am sorry and definitely didn't mean to offend. Just wondered how you determined that they were better. The simple lack of an overload leaf on the pack doesn't convince me. I seriously would like to see them compared. Spring thickness, arch, and spring rate. That's what I want to know personally.

here is some pics of the stock springs and the 3" drop ones I just got...

they are arched lower and actually have thicker leafs, I noticed the mounting eyes are angled differently also

I also noticed the stock spring is pre-sprung and tightens up once removed... the drop leafs line up with no compression

Hey thats what I wanted to see :waytogo:

Now that ebay link you posted said the springs are for later models(89-95)
Anyone know the interchange between rear springs?

Yeah, me too! Nice pics! Now if we can just talk you into pulling a middle leaf from one of those packs and putting one of each on, then jumping in the back of the truck and hopping around a bit, mebbe we could get some spring rate tests and see how they compare on the truck. :D

oh all you no snow belt guys don't know how easy you got it...

with the trouble I had just getting one spring out... once they go back in they are not coming out if I can help it
had to cut the bolts to get them out...

the stock spring seems to have a higher spring rate(they arch even higher after removed), but the leafs are thicker on the drops so I would guess they are stiffer

So wait are we talking leafs from an '89-'94 or '83? I'd LOVE to get a hold of those for my truck instead of pulling a leaf and the back being soft. I'm guessing that the later leafs aren't compatible?

to know about interchange, whats the pack width, eye hole diamter, length from eye to eye (installed for ease of comparison) and the distance from the front eye to the centering pin. just compare those numbers truck to truck. i cant imagine they differ that much. at most, it would be center pin location. and that can be redrilled if need be.

So I was talking to someone about gear ratios and he mentioned that the W58 doesnt really like 4.10 gearing.

Currently I have both a 3.42 F code and a 4.10 G code. Planning on putting the G code in soon.

There is a 81 Celica 5 speed at the JY, should be a W55. Opinions?
