Somebody damaged my passenger side mirror, and I need a replacement fast. The stock mirror looks like it is installed from inside the door, pulling off the door side panel to access the fasteners. I'm worried about pulling the panel and not being able to put it back. Does it just snap off and back on??? Also, Toyota doesn't sell these stock replacement mirrors (I read) and the ones I'm seeing sold appear to be bolted on with self-tapping screws. I need the mirror exactly were it was, otherwise there would be holes in the door from the stock mirror. Anybody have some tips on this that has already gone through replacing the passenger side mirror on a '92 pickup? Thanks. 92 Toyota Right Side Painted by House O' Payne posted Aug 12, 2018 at 1:43 PM
Btw, you don't take the door panel off, the base of the mirror has 2 pieces. Pry them apart and it reveals the 2 Phillips head bolt/screws. They don't come out from the inside.
Thanks much Erwin! I'm very glad the mounting sounds easy. I bought a replacement off Amazon (Kool Vue Mirror) that was black to match, and it's supposed to arrive in a few days. I love my 92 Toyota and get complements on the way I keep it showroom clean/polished.
