A little plain, but cut some door cards and got them wrapped in vinyl tonight. Just gonna screw through them with some sort of cap/cover for the screws.

If they do the job, it's a good start. You can always make them more badass in the future

Well I tried to replace the bushings in the rear springs and shackles. The ones in the rear of the spring and the shackle were worn some, but not as bad as I thought they might be. No problem getting them out, or in. The front however, I could not get the bolt/pin out. Is there a secret to that? Or can I assume since it doesn't come out easy, that the bushings should be fine? They are the same bushing, looking at what came with the kit (all 12 were the same).

Well I installed my offshore sending unit today, with mixed results. Wasn't plug and play (which was evident by the pictures of it, so not a surprise). Spiced in some new connectors, and tried it. Nothing - gauge didn't move. Put an ohm meter to it. 120 something regardless of where the float was. Took the cover off it, and played with the shape of the brass scraper that contacts the resister. Finally got the ohm meter to move, at least. After some trial and error, got it to go from around 10 ohms to 125. Installed it in the tank. Wasn't much gas in it, but the needle did move a little- to just on the E (a good sign) . First gas station I passed, put around 4 gallons in, needle went to empty line (seemed like maybe it should have been a little higher). Next gas station, but another 7 or 8 gallons in (till the pump kicked out), and it went to the full line (but not past). I guess all in all, the fact that the gauge is moving is a good thing. Will see from here if it continues to work, for how long and how accurate it will be. (Will likely keep my jerry can in the back for a while!

I would definitely test it before installing it.

Well i have started to sell a few Celica items on Ebay, creating a kitty that the wife can't complain about me spending on the truck. Have a bit of a wish list. In probably the order i will buy them.

    Air shocks for the rear.
New one piece rear glass with new rubber gasket,
    New dash panel.
    New windshield.
I bought off shore door rubbers, but not happy with them. Doors still whistle. Thinking OEM might be better,

And toying with the idea of this. can't decide if I like it.

Not sure why, but that looks like it'd be a bitchin' roof sticker, sorta like the General Lee with the flag on top, but more Canadian

That is an excellent idea! More subtle, but yet quite visible because of how low the truck is. It may even more up a spot or two on my wish list!

Very minor update. (Maybe I should have a facebook page to bore people with trivial stuff in my life).

The shocks I bought did not fit (the body was too wide), so I had to find other ways to put some time into the old girl. I am slowly trying to get rid of rattles, so I put some shrink tubing on the the tailgate chains. There was nothing on one, and ugly clear plastic on the other that was yellowed and cracked. No before picture but looks better, and no more rattle.

Also spent some time cleaning up the engine bay. No tidy up yet, but that will come. Looks better already.
    Before.

And after cleanup and some 303 Protectant

Thanks Dan. That is me....simple :)

Well I installed my air shocks in the back. Moved the exhaust over a bit, by changing a hanger location on the tail pipe. Couldn't go any further, or the muffler would hit the frame. Only a little more than an inch between the pipe and the shock. Is that too close?

Can get some clearance now when I need it - with about 60PSI in the picture. (not the best light for the old girl I see. She is showing her age in this pic - wrinkles and all)

Man, fuck that muffler. You don't need it. Just dump the tube after the cat ;)

Well I spent some time on the old girl's 35 year old paint this weekend, with the extra day off (Happy 150th Birthday Canada!). She cleaned up pretty good. I wont embarrass the the old girl with a full sun picture (showing all her bumps and bruises) but here is a pic.
