Why cant i just leave my leafsprings mounted until i get everything tacked up. Seems like it would be easier?
Its not that no one who said i couldnt but ive been doing research and watching videos and have never seen anyone do it that way
That will hold your axle in the correct place,so will be good! Though when you set up your link bars you want the frame setting at your ride height,so with the leafs in place may not be where needed! When I did mine the truck was static dropped with dropped leafs & the dropped spindles with angled blocks also @ the rear,so sat where needed,we welded braces in place to keep the axle where it was ,than removed everything incluing all mounting tabs for stock stuff so the frame was clean.
If my drop right now prettt much where i want my ride height it would be fine to weld up the links how it sits right? Before i chop everything. Was planing on doing that before i weld up my notch
Make sure it is as low as you want it so not having to redo work!! Cost time & $$$$$ I lay frame ,but did not Z the front, & I am not body dropped so the rockers sit 2'' off the ground when laid out. I did shave the pinch weld as hated looking at it hanging down!!
Hey truck action just curious as to what size c notch did you use. I was thinking about putting in a 6 inch bit figure i ask somebody before i purchase the notch. Dont want to put a notch in and still not be able to lay the rear out lol
I used a 8 piece from CanDo,now KBS Fabbercation. I used a 8 piece as you can weld at the inside on the main to frame plates, so as to be stronger! You can find these at serial Mini Truck supply shop on line.
