Thanks Jetas. Yes, tried eBay, rockauto, Cabe's Toyota, emailed all classic car parts vendors, even Australia's Gumtree.
Nada- just odd. Now I know why there's threads of why other stout owners do a frame swap...

    Welcome !
Measure the stock spring & you should be able to find ones from another Toyota or even another brand that will work!!

Toyota is known for reusing a lot of parts on many vehicles. I mean come on the stereo connector has been the same on most of their cars since the 90s. Pretty sure youll be able to find a spring thatl work

Tried the whole early hilux to current pick ups. Wrong length, tension pitch etc.

    Love Stouts, awesome find!
I dunno about you, but for me I could see leaving the whole truck completely stock EXCEPT for the brakes. That's the one area I'd for sure upgrade and wouldn't even be looking at stock replacement parts.

What about calling up a spring company? Might be able to get close by giving them some basic specs like length, diameter and coil count

I've been praying to the Toyota God and he/she turned me on the toyotaminis.com :)

Right on Perk! All original is cool cuz so far everything works just needs to stop. I have a 81 long bed 2wd working everything that I rolled.. Missing her as she sit 200 miles from me on my brothers farm. I'm debating if I should even swap the stout body to that Frame and call it a day...? Then again here in California the whole smog issue. Hmm, got word from a fella to maybe get the whole brake set up from the 81 and with light mods of drilling some holes from M8 to M10 it shall work... Hmm..... Anyone don't this before?

If youre in Cali and the stout is registered dont worry about smog. Swap the chassis if you want But dont use the newer VIN for any paperwork. Illegal probably yea but i wont tell

I have a 66 Stout in a similar situation as far as not finding any company that carries the brake shoes. How did you go about it? Ive ordered shoes 5 times and theyve all been the wrong ones. I just tried to order some friday and woke up today to an email saying that the brakes were out of stock.

    Hey Stizzy,

After ordering a few times and finally getting my measurements correct., I found that most parts are exact from the Toyota crown which is more advertised than the stout. I found mine on eBay please see attached pic for seller and measurements. It was a perfect fit! The biggest issue for me were the wheel cylinders, more like a nightmare. I rebuilt them myself after an impossible search and numerous returns. I will re sleeved them next time or maybe just throw the stout body in my 81 image.png hilux perhaps
