hi guys im looking to add abit of my own touch in the engine bay im just wondering what people have done and or doing. my thoughts are braided radiator hose and coloured vacuum lines and stuff like that not sure if i cant paint anything tho
What I have done: used silicone hoses through out painted or power coated all engine parts ( used Por -15 & high temp eng. paint) Cool-Flex radiator hoses LC plug wires & wire loom
That is a lot of red. Definitely color coordinated. Mine probably needs a bit more cleaning up before I'll be happy with it.
Both of those are super clean looking. Truck Action you need a pic of Carrie under that hood. Litneon what motor you running with that turbo?
I don't want to speak for TruckAction, but I think he said it was polished aluminum. And I've got a built 22re under there.
Custom made for me by Griffin. I had the filler neck moved to the side,& upper hose neck angled! They had be send them lots of photo's with measurements, & they found they had the patterns.
From what I understand you can paint the tops of radiators but the paint itself acts as an insulator keeping the warm in when you want the warm out. It might only be a bit of a minimal difference but I wouldn't paint it.
The factory radiators are painted. The insulating property of the paint on only the top tank will have very little effect on the efficiency of the radiator as a whole. In fact, a dark color will have a much higher emissivity. That is, it will radiate heat much better than the polished aluminum.
I live in the desert so no water spray issues as of yet. I will be fashioning some sort of inner fenders before the snow flies though!
