I'm a huge 1st Gen Celica fan and stumbled upon this shoot today at work. Check it out. In my country we call this "el pajaro y la jaula." The bird and the cage, complete package. Anna Harwood - a set on Flickr
If this is the first time you saw those shots, then you probably don't know about (but probably should if you like Celicas): Classic-Celica.com That car belongs to one of the forum members.
Would love an early 1st gen Celica, but not dying for one just yet. Might just put my 22RE in one if I do get that Lexus V8 going.
If you were closer Im selling mine... 20r, sidedrafts, header, full coilovers, big vented cressida discs in front.
I'm curious too. I rarely see them for less than a grand in any form, his being done up I assume around $3-4k.
Well mine is far from "done up". Interior is in boxes.. Header and Sidedrafts are in boxes as well. Front discs, coilovers, camber plates and rcas are are in and functioning. 20r and w56 2wd truck tranny are in and running (the different 1st/2nd gear is real fun..."torquier" feel). Has all glass in good shape (one rock chip in windshield but 100% fillable). Vehicle runs and drives but definitely still needs some work. You can feel/tell the age of the underbody parts (bushings, steering, etc). And the electrical is in need of some work...its all there, but not quite functioning right (could be as simple as bulbs, I havent even dove into it). Im very slowly tinkering on the celica. I have 3 other vintage yotas aswell (86 4x4 monster on 35s, 85 supra undergoing hx35/2jz swap, and 67 stout awaiting 1uz) The celica headliner and pillars are recovered in black suede, new 3m nidoc woodgrain on dash and center console pieces. Hoping to get most of the interior and some new carpet in this weekend and tinker on lighting aswell. On the wheels in the picture im looking for 1800 (wheels will require fender trimming and installation of my ZG fiberglass flares that are in the trunk) Otherwise I was looking for 1500 on a set of 14s with great tread bfgs. Not interested in trades as I already have enough vehicles and I really wanna dump money into the 2jz for the supra. Have a guy from kalispell bringing a trailer over on thanksgiving weekend to check it out and possibly a guy this sunday locally. Firmness on price (or even increase) will all depend on if I get enough time to keep working on it or just sell it as is with a bunch of good parts in boxes to be installed.
I wish I had the money and time. I wouldn't mind driving out there to just pick that up. I've always wanted to go to Washington anyway. Good Luck with selling it.
