hey guys im thinking of making "evil eyes" halo rings as seen with bmw's for in my headlights and was wondering if anyone has done it and can give me tips and or ticks that they used. any help would be appreciated
There are a few companies with both round & rectangular head lights with different configurations of LED in them ,clear & colored!
Prefabbed housings are pretty cheap. Search for angel eyes and you'll find them. Never heard them referred to as evil eyes.
When I spoke with a rep from one of these companies he said the light out put was some what compromised by the LED'S. If you just want the look,OK, but if you want the best lighting go with HID's with a ballast. I went them, HID's from DDM , inside Hela glass lens, then laid LED eye brows into my one piece bumper/valance!
yeah im going to go red rings so it looks "evil" haha i hate slow drivers so i want to try scare them out the way. truck action that looks so good. also is that front bar just one piece?
Yes, the LED strips come 9 1/2 '' or 18 ''I used the longer ones ,you can cut @ every 3 rd light is size! Out from Supper Bright LED's I laid out a pattern I that looked good from a distance ,than plasmaed out, made a pocket out of 3/4'' square tube, & fabbed it in! The strips are wired into my running lights,& held in place with aquarium sealer which is clear.
Thank you! I did this winter of 2012, didn't throw any build photo's up on this, & at first show of that year Danger Zone was a big hit! Got Retirement Toy her 2nd Top 100 out of a 900 truck field! I thought for sure I'd see some others do this type of mod, but even though 2014 show season I have not seen anyone do it!!
