Big thanks to whiteDLX210 first I removed my lower dash panel under the steering wheel and I found the plug for the switch. Was taped to the speaker wire. Removed the blank and installed. So I I know it not a big mod or really important but damn its nice I think. I know I broke the rule of photos but as usual I did it w/o a camera.
Did the same to mine, took the dash off to change clusters and I saw the taped connections, so I went to pick n pull, and was lucky enough to find a switch. I was also prewired for the tachometer, which was a plus.
Doesnt matter. Im using one removed from a tacoma. I have a tool box drawer full of toyota switches that I find in my travels.
Find the smallest toggle/flat switch you can find and hide it as an anti-theft device... Just dont forget where you hid it...
I use to have a kill switch but it got on my neverves. It was on my ac setting and you had to have it on the right setting for it to start
It's a 4x4 thing. If you kill the truck on a hill it allows you to push the cancel button so you can start the rig in gear so you don't have to side step or slip the hell out of the clutch and risk sliding down the hill.
Yeah I never got caught up in the 4x4 thing. My father on the other hand is big into it, but he uses his monster 4x4 1942 Jeep Willys for that.
Thanks for the props! I use it every time I start the truck, I know it's not necessary but whatever, it's convenient.
I don't push my clutch pedal in or push a button every time I start my truck. Now that is convenient.
mine is factory fresh without having to cut and splice wires so you don't have to track down electrical problems later down the road if anything ever happens
