Just got my 71 hilux running and have been driving it quite a bit. I was driving at night and noticed that none of the dash gauges...such as the speedometer have the backlighting to them so you can see them at night. Does anyone know if these trucks do have dash lights? I don't want to tear into the dash and gauges to replace bulbs that do not exist. Thanks
I think that it has dash lights, but I would check the fuses first, then the wiring and lights. Good Luck 22R88
they do not have backlights, they have lights to illuminate the front of the gauges, they aren't that bright to begin with, the bulbs may be burnt out
also look for a dimmer adjustment, might be built into the headlight switch or on the dash. Not sure on your year, alot of my customers in the past have been trumped by this one.
