Does anyone know anything about Weber carbs made in Japan? I know there are knockoff Weber carbs made in China and South America and probably all over the world, but are made in Japan Weber carbs the real deal? I haven't been able to find any information on them.
^^ +1. But im only well aquainted with the IDA or IDF weber downdrafts. The Itailian ones are the best. Spain is top quality. Weber Redline "I think" are made in the states. But Ive heard the castings are terrible. Need to double check. And a generic no name weber, you can probibly guess. I never heard of Jap webers being made. Id be suspicious...
the redline ones from webercarbsdirect are spain built. i havnt bought a redline one, too much $$$. pics of the jap carbs im kinda interested in seeing em
japenese webers is a myth. sounds more like somebodys calling a solex or mikuni sidedraft a weber. both makes came factory on some toyota's, mitsu's and datsuns. also there hasnt been a weber made in italy in years. all ones sold as new with a "made in italy" stamp are NOS parts.
I have a knock of weber, works awesome on my friends truck... Im assuming its knockoff.. the only place that says weber is a sticker on the electric choke.
Yeah, it looks like I was totally mistaken actually. I was trying to find info on some used carbs. They were Mikuni sidedrafts. For some reason I was thinking they were Weber sidedrafts. No wonder I couldn't find any info on Japanese made Webers.
