79 tailgate latches

    I have a 79 long bed and the tailgate latches are messed up. I was wondering if the latches of a 84 -up would work as they look similar and stuff... Does anyone know?

    Saw reproduction latches available on eBay. They were listed on eBay motors under 1979-1983 Toyota pickup truck search.
