When I body my truck I wanna either rebuild my motor or get a long block. Is rebuilding these engines easy? I took one completely apart before anddone gaskets just wanted to know if I should rebuild the one I have or just buy a long block. Lemme know guys
Honestly stock long blocks are so cheap that its about the same to tear yours apart and machine it or buy a long block outta LA
There's a company selling rebuilt long blocks for like 900. My motor runs great but pushing 200000 I think it needs to be done.
i'd do it cause just to make the truck more reliable if you have the time and money. Not saying its going to break down tomorrow, but at 200K things start to happen. It would suck to bag it then have to wait to do motor work once all the suspension is finished.
Becareful when buying new or rebuilt longblocks... Lots of chinese copies floating around now... The crank and rods are not forged like your OEM stuff...
