Has anyone ever figured out how much power (if any) is lost from the operation of the mechanical fuel pump on a 22R. I'm thinking its not enough to remove and go with a electric pump.
I tend to agree, but I think I'll go ahead an install the electric back by the tank outlet for extra fuel when needed. When I really get on it and the carb is wide open the engine falters a bit until it gets enough fuel. I don't think the stock pump is able to keep up with the demand.
the mechanical pump is garbage. if you put a gauge on it you'll see fluctuating psi at all rpms, and the more you rev the more the psi goes up. plus webers seem to hate them. doubt you'd notice any difference in power by losing it. better off going to a Efan, you'll notice that.
