i would like a video with the wright Idle sound for a 1975 SR-5 20R motor..

it lags to start, push gas pedal down and it dies...or if it tap it it will stay for as long as i tap the pedal, but once i stop it dies.

You may have fixed it already but you probably have a vacuum leak, low float level or plugged up jets. When you tap the gas the accelerator pump feeds the extra fuel to keep the engine running.

sounds like fuel issues...it should idle around 750-900....its pretty simple to just listin to it....idle it down to where it almost cuts out, then back up a 1/4 of a turn....youll get it soon...

i always pull the carb off and clean or rebuild....check ALL of the vac lines...the slightest crack can cause the ride to run like poo...you can always spray w-d40 on all the lines, it theres any engine change, more likely thats your vac leak(s). Check your fuel filter, pump, and gas lines. But if you rebuild the carb, witch is rather cheap, thatll knock that out the pic. Good luck to u bud!
