This thing currently belongs to a close friend of mine, but im getting it as soon as i scratch up the cash. So I still haven't bought the thing, hopefully have it within a month. I've got an abscessed tooth that's giving me horrible pain and keeping me up all night so I thought what the hell, I'll start a build thread anyway since all I can seem to think about is this dumb truck. Lol

What I know about it so far:

    - 1990 Standard Cab
    - 22R / Manual
    - 1 ton helper springs in the rear
    - Xterra buckets (which need to go. I have to fit 3 in the cab so I'm looking for a stock bench)
    - Cold start issue. After it warms up, runs great.
    - Tiny bit of rot in the passenger door bottom and one dent there.
    - Couple dings on top of bed rails and some in tailgate
    - Rest of the body is straight and solid
    - Base base model, but does have A/C (Not sure if it works)
    - 213,000 miles

For now I just plan on cleaning it up really well and driving the hell out of it. I'm knee deep in my 72 Chevelle and finishing my 78 Yamaha chopper. Eventually I'll do a static drop and slap on some Astro Supreme rims with thin whitewall 195/75-14s.

Sorry these pics are so poor, only ones I have at the moment. I'll get some better ones soon.

For now I'll leave the stock steels on. Thinking of doing a thin red line around the lip of them.

Also debating on smoked lenses all around to keep everything blacked out.

May slap some classic style pinstripes on her too. Who knows. Once I get it home, things will start to come together a little easier.

Still can't sleep from this damn tooth. Supposed to have it looked at and probably pulled on Tuesday. So in the meantime I've been planning planning planning.

I'm pretty set on the 92-95 4 Runner front bumper and valance in black. 4wd fenders. Stock grille if that will work with the 4wd sheet metal and bumper. Smoked corners, signals, tails, and headlights. Dark tint and blacked out interior. Got a neat idea for the interior fabric that I'll share as soon as I find the right stuff.

Picked out my tags using the VA DMV create-a-plate site.

I don't think the stock grill will work too well with the 4runner side lights, they are different.

I don't think so either, but honestly I can't remember if I tried them or what. When I had my 1991 xcab, I put the 92-95 4 Runner bumper/valance on it with 4wd fenders. Left the 2wd grille in, and I'm thinking that's why I didn't put the corners back in, because they wouldn't work with that grille.

Exactly. 2wd lights connect to the grill with a pin/socket setup...the 4runner lights from those years slide on to tabs in the grille, from front to back...then secure with screws from the side.

Trudged around in the mud and rain today window shopping parts. Found a cheap core support, grille, headlights, and valance. The bumper and fenders were full of rot. Factory 4 Runner CD player (to keep sticky fingers away from my interior). Also looked at the headliner and map light in a 92 4 Runner. Picked up a clock for now.

I was thinking about this and was going to suggest someone do a sticker. I would grab some to represent.

I'm trying to find someone to do some. So far, I've contacted 2 decal companies and have yet to get a price quote. I'll do a run of 50 to start. If they all sell, I'll order some more.

My buddy has a vinyl cutter and makes stickers. He also does screen printing if that is wanted. He has a bagged '94 4runner to boot. I could give you his contact info or you could hit him up on facebook or website. BST Clothing | Live Life Kustom

    She's home!

Runs great, needs a little tweaking here and there. The 1 ton helper springs make the ass bounce like an Amish buggy, so I need to yank those out for sure. Brakes are a little stiff. Carb needs choke adjustment. These Xterra buckets definitely sit too high for my taste, but they're comfy.

Has some kind of nasty roll on bedliner in the bed. Most of it has flaked off, so shouldn't be too hard to clean the rest of that out. Has a windshield mounted rear view in place of a missing factory roof mount rear view. I'll put the 4 Runner map light mirror in to replace all that mess.

She still has the factory owners manual and supplement. Also has the factory tool kit and jack. Came with a bazooka tube and an ancient Pioneer head unit. Lol. Can't wait to clean it up.

I can almost guarantee thats the roll on hurculiner. I made the mistake of putting that craptastic bed liner in my bed when it first came out and have regretted it for years now. It looks almost the same as yours. A good scraper or putty knife or maybe even a pressure washer will take it off without too much effort.
