Here's my new project. Once upon a time I had a 92 project build on here lol. Well I ended up trading that to a square body s10. Well feast forward 2 years, I have a fully painted show truck in the s10. Freshly painted, and take it to its first show and end ups with this yota. My buddy got the truck in 2008. Done the body drop hisself and all the work. I've been around this truck for awhile, even put in wrench time on it. Never Imagined I would ever own it lol. Well a few months ago he traded it off to a mustang and left the yota to be destroyed. It's bodied 2 1/4. Sliding rag. Of course RHD conversion. (If anyone's has the hookup on getting a stock rhd dash, lmk plz) 4runner sheet metal.
We have the ability to have a rhd dash shipped over. Only thing is shipping will be a bit expensive. If you are interested give Arron a call at (530)532-1557 between 10 and 5 mon-fri.
A factory dash would have a certain amount of cool factor. But why not finish building a custom one? Or another option is a 75-78 hilux dash. The LHD version can be swapped very easy. The gauge cluster and glove box door are the same shape. Just modify the hinge onto the other side with a small metal tab. And move the headlight and hazard switches to the right side. The sending units should run on the same signals as a later 22R so that part is easy to wire. I plan to swap mine next summer. Have a spare dash to do it already. Width would be the only concern I see. But you could always extend the ends a bit. I wouldn't split the center, you'd have to widen the pad and center plastic.
Thanks guys. I hadn't thought of the hilux dash. If I could find one I'd prob try and use it. I'm thinking right now about using a ford econoline dash.
Here's my latest update. Got the side sail mirrors on. Got 4 more valves added along with a new switch box. Just have a few odd and end things left to do to be done.
Thank you sir! Starting the rebuild of this thing now. Pics to come. New wheels, new paint, finishing the interior and cleaning some of the suspension work in the front up.
Started the early stages of body work today. Got the fenders wet sanded. I'm gonna have a little Body work Ill have to fix on the bed. Gotta love those donut wheels lol.
Started the body work on the bed. Gonna start shaving the squirters on the hood in the morning and shave the wiper motor hole on the firewall.
Alright guys. Decided to go a diff route on wheels. Billets are gonna be later. Here's my lexus isf wheels. Decided on paint right now. Stay with the original plan or paint the whole truck purple. Test panel for the colors I'm choosing from.
