Well starting my suicide door project ,using stock hinges & latches. Plan on a 6 week window ,to have done before Danger Zone.

Here I'm using L-stock to get reference lines for the lay out of the end panels removal from donner doors.

 

The blue tape is my cut lines,these end panels will be removed & welded into opposing ends on the opposite door.
All cutting will done using a plasma.

 

These are the templates for metal locators so that the end panels will be in the correct location to weld in

 

Once the panels are in place a place, a length of 1/4" x 2" stock,drilled to the hinge holes,will be bolted in place & will swing into the pocket cut on the latch side body jam,welded in place,reinforced, & then remove the front hinges from the body.

Got the locating plates cut

 

Plates for the latch ends will get cut today then I can remove the end panels on the donner doors.Also found that the window channel is attached to the inside of the latch side,so had to be released so as not to cut though it!
